Sr. Financial Specialist

I’m Marcus, and I’m thrilled to be a Retirement Specialist at 1.oak Financial. I graduated from Abilene Christian University back in 2011 with a Bachelor’s of Science, and for several years now, I’ve enjoyed working in the financial services industry. Specifically, my focus has been on helping Federal Employees navigate their retirement plans, particularly the intricate world of FERS and CSRS retirement plans.

Let me share a bit about my journey. I come from humble beginnings, raised in Midland, Texas by my Grandma alongside my three older brothers. Life wasn’t always easy – my Grandma faced health challenges, and money was tight. Despite our struggles, we had what we needed, thanks to her determination. Her resilience taught me the value of helping others help themselves. That’s why I’m so passionate about what I do; I know firsthand the difference financial guidance can make.

On a more personal note, I’m a proud Texan through and through. I’m a busy dad with three incredible kids – two girls and an energetic boy. Family time is precious to me. Whether it’s cheering my son on at his travel sports events, going on family trips, or just hanging out at home, those moments are priceless.

To unwind, I hit the gym, lifting weights, running, and playing basketball a couple of times a week. But when I need to de-stress mentally, I dive into audiobooks, especially self-help ones. I’m all about continuous learning and gaining that slight edge.

 When it comes to my work, I’m not here to sell you something for the sake of it. I’m here to listen and contribute to the creation of your One of a Kind Financial Plan­™. I’m here to do right by people and make a positive impact in their lives. Let’s chat!
